I guess many readers of this blog will be familiar with the recent furore of the sacking of the CTO of @stake , after he was lead author on a document purporting to identify security dangers due to Microsoft's market position in the global software market.
The original document, entitled CyberInSecurity: The Cost of Monopoly is located at http://www.ccianet.org/papers/cyberinsecurity.pdf
I found the document poorly argued and weakly presented. I don't mean that it lacked passion. Rather it seemed to me that it substituted passion for a well-constructed logical case.
P.S. Please forgive the minor fiction of "many readers" earlier in this entry. In the second day of a blog I hope that I can be forgiven that minor fantasy.
