Microsoft Webcasts: Update

I documented my initial trials and tribulations with Microsoft Webcasts a couple of days ago, Interwise or Interstupid? .

The more I explore the range of Webcasts available, and see their potential usefulness to existing users and potential users of Microsoft software, the more the difficulties in making an initial connection seem so undesirable.

In the last 48 hours or so I have made time to view Webcasts on SQL Server Reporting Services, InfoPath 2003 (the Webcast is now dated but the software is of particular interest to me) and SharePoint Technologies (includes both Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server 2003).

If you haven't yet discovered Microsoft Webcasts, and the numbers attending live suggest it is very much a minority pursuit, then I suggest you make time to explore these. They are really interesting.

You may have to endure a little of the teething problems that I mentioned in my earlier entry to get access to Webcasts at all but once you get past those difficulties the content can be very well worthwhile.

Hello Andrew -

I work on the team that hosts Microsoft Webcasts, and we're moving away from Interwise to Office Live Meeting by November 1st. It will utilize simply signing up with your passport account and attending the webcast from the url that is emailed to you at that point.

We're always looking for ways to make this program more useful for our customers so if you have any feedback or customer experience to share with us, I'd love to chat with you as time permits to work this feedback into our program.
