Service Pack 2 of SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services is likely to be released soon. In fact, a few days ago I saw a link at Microsoft Windows Server System: Home to Reporting Services SP2 but it was removed a few hours later. The link didn't take you to an SP2 download, so don't imagine that I am a step ahead of the world in having access to SP2.
The following table summarises version numbers and dates of the existing releases.
| Release | Version Number | Date |
|---|---|---|
| RTM | 8.00.0743.00 | 27th January 2004 |
| SP1 | 8.00.878.00 | June 2004 |
| SP2 | 8.00.???.?? | April 2005?? |
To find out the version number of your current version of SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services, open Internet Explorer and enter the following URL: http://localhost/reportserver , substituting the name of your server as appropriate.
The version number is displayed if the Web page renders correctly.
