Quote of the Week

I am experimenting with a so-called Quote of the Week heading.

Readers of this blog will come to realise that I have a highly individual sense of humour. So, don't be surprised if you fail to find humour in some quotes that I find very funny.

Equally I won't necessarily be targetting humour. Just something that sticks in my mind ... perhaps as perceptive, perhaps provocative, perhaps amusing. Some quotes may be technology related. Some will have nothing to do with technology.

The first quote comes into the latter category. Of all the assorted stuff I have read in the past week this one sticks in my mind. It is from the journalist Robert Fisk and is pretty self-explanatory:

" Don't Tell Me America Would Have Invaded Iraq If Its Chief Export was Beetroot "

Source: Oil, War and Panic

This quote just stuck in my mind as a wonderfully direct piece of puffery pricking. It isn't compulsory for you to agree!

Unfortunately technical writing is often couched in bland, instantly forgettable tones. But if you find a quotable technical quote that might suit Quote of the Week please feel free to point me in its direction.
