Having mentioned to four people (real human beings rather than online friends or contacts) that I had started a blog the response was verbatim almost identical: "What's a blog?".
It is so very easy for those of us who spend a significant proportion of our time either online, thinking about going online or otherwise working with or thinking about computer-based technology to forget that we are, in a literal sense, abnormal. Our knowledge, priorities and mindset is different from the average citizen.
Different from the average citizen in Western countries such as the USA and the UK and even more different (and even more abnormal) in the perspective of citizens of less-privileged countries.
Of course we like to imagine that we are abnormal in a good sense. Naturally.
