Python in Visual Studio.NET?

I am currently planning to do some dabbling with Python programming on Windows and plan to make some sort of assessment of ActiveState's Visual Python, ActiveState - ActiveState Visual Python IDE plug-in Visual Studio.Net to establish if it is a comfortable tool to use.

It's possibly overkill for the relatively simple things I want to do, so I will have a look around to see what else is around for Python programming on the Windows platform.

ActiveState also have the Komodo IDE, ActiveState - ActiveState Komodo IDE Perl Python Tcl PHP XSLT , as an alternative.

And I am sure there are many others.

Problem number 1 is trying to find some time to make some sort of meaningful assessment.

Komodo rocks. I have been using 2.3 heavily for a year and it is a joy to use. Mostly I've been writing Python, but it supports many different languages. I recently upgraded to 2.5, but it didn't like my VPN setup, so I went back to 2.3 until they fix the VPN support in 2.5.
