Open Source advocate Eric Raymond has written an open letter, Open letter to Sun: Let Java Go , to Sun CEO Scott McNealy advocating that Sun let Java become truly open source.
Customers are, I think, becoming more assertive.
Just as I perceive that Microsoft will have to become genuinely customer-centric, I think it's likely that Sun will have to pay increasing attention to customers too.
Interesting times are ahead for the software industry.
